CRAZY about my Aunt CC

Yesterday we were so lucky to have Aunt CC come for a short visit. She is so good with him and he adores her. I hope one day she can live in OKC so we can see her ALL THE TIME! Turner loves when she reads to him! Thank you sis for spending yesterday and today with us. WE LOVE YOU and can't wait to see you again soon! You're the best Aunt in the whole wide world Aunt CC in action...she was such a good story teller that Turner fell fast asleep, dreaming, I'm sure!

Today, we got out the bumbo. Turner is really trying to sit up, so I thought we'd give it a try. He did pretty good for a 1st timer

I am so blessed that my sister was able scoot up to Norman and come steal all of Turner's kisses as my Grandma Rose says.

Turner couldn't get enough of his Aunt CC yesterday. He was laughing up a storm. I'll try to learn how to post a video...it was too cute! He's got the sweetest little laugh!

Can you tell they are in love!

Cousins!

Yesterday, Turner finally got to meet his sweet cousins who live in Virgina: Emma, Mason, and Tess...it was so much fun! Turner is going to have so much fun with them when he gets a little bit older. Emma can teach him to play soccer, I bet Mason will teach him how to play chess or build legos, and Tess is our little drama queen, so she can give him acting lessons!
I am so blessed to have such wonderful in-laws who I love just like my parents.
Enjoy the pictures!
Today we went to church with Johnny & Judy so they could "show off" their newest grand-baby!

Christmas in Perryton!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas in my home town Perryton, Tx. We left Norman early Christmas Eve morning just arriving in time for some of my mom's famous Taco soup. As always, we ate WAY too much, but had such good fellowship with all of our family. Turner was such a little trooper...despite being passed around non-stop, he really never got too cranky. Now is the fun part, trying to get him back on his schedule.
Tomorrow we're off to John's parents to celebrate Christmas with them and eat more.....Starting the diet on Monday

Turner's 1st Christmas...can you tell we are proud parents?

My sister Crystal, aka Aunt CC and her boyfriend (hopefully soon to be fiance) Eric. We had so much fun with them and can't wait for Aunt CC to come back next week and spend a few days with us

Heavy on my heart....

On Saturday we got to see Turner's b-mom again...and I have to say, it was really hard this time. My heart literally ached for her. I can see how much she loves Turner and I can't seem to put my mind around how difficult it must be for her to leave him. She came back into the room twice to give him one last kiss and say "I love you"....I chocked back tears the entire way home. It's such a mix of emotions I never knew I would experience. I'm filled with such joy and gratitude but at the same time I feel so much pain in knowing how difficult the holidays are going to be this year for her. Her love for our little boy is a constant reminder of God's love for us. Despite the enormous pain it caused, he put aside his own desires and gave up his only son so that we might have ever lasting life. And that's exactly what Turner's birth mom did. There is no doubt, this wasn't the easy way out for her ...but she put aside the great pain and grief she had and did what was best for her son. A mirror image of God's love for you and me. Oh how I pray that God will give her peace, love, and protection today and all the days that follow.

Those kissable little lips & big brown eyes....
Sleeping peacefully in his birth mother's arms. Oh how we love her... I talk about her every single day to Turner. I never want him to forget her or the never ending love she has for him.

Christmas Party!

Last night we had my staff over and their significant others for our annual St. Jude Christmas party! It's always nice to get away from work and just have fun. I'm so blessed to work with such amazing women who make me laugh constantly! It will certainly make going back to work a little bit easier.

Hustle & Bustle

This holiday season, I have really challenged myself not to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, but to "be still" and enjoy the true meaning of Christmas. I must admit, at times it has been tough, but it has been so nice just sitting at home with the best Christmas gift of all, baby Turner, and being his mommy! John & I were visiting last night, and oh how I remember Christmas being so bitter sweet last year. Both of our hearts longed for a child....but as Garth Brooks sings, thank God for unanswered prayers... At the time, we didn't know what God's plan for our family looked like, but we trusted God would be faithful. Was he faithful or what?
I have no doubt, God hand picked Turner's birthmom for us. A little over a year ago, she was in California, at work, on her computer, and a pop up screen appeared offering incentives for people to move to Oklahoma....so that's exactly what she did. Isn't it amazing how God's love watches over each of us and protects us. She packed her bags and headed to Oklahoma knowing no one. On our last visit, she shared with us that God was the only friend she had when she moved here and she relied on him every single day to make it to the next day. Thank you God for being faithful, and protecting and sending Turner's birthmom to us!

Turner smiles ALL THE TIME!
Turner has really started enjoying his monkey activity gym the last few weeks. He loves having tummy time on it and I bet he'll be rolling over within the next few weeks.
We will get to see Turner's b-mom this Saturday. She is a HUGE UCLA football fan, so earlier on I found some cozy pj's that were UCLA colors that I thought she'd enjoy. But with these blistering cold temperatures, it was really on my heart to buy her a warm coat, some mittens, and a scarf. So Turner and I bundled up and headed to TJ Maxx and found her the perfect gift. It is such a blessing shopping for her. Actually, I think I got more excited shopping for her than anyone else in our family! We are really looking forward to spending some quality time with her on Saturday. She is going to be so surprised at how big Turner has gotten!

Do you think he's posing OR WHAT? I think we're going to have a "show off" on our hands!

Turner's in the 75% on height for his age...he's going to be a big tall boy!
Hope everyone is having a blessed week!

Turner is 2 months old

I can't believe on Saturday Turner was 2 months old.... Saying time flies when you're having fun is a HUGE understatement! Last Thursday we had his 2 month check up and he weighs 11 lbs 9 oz and is 24 1/2 inches long! The doctor said he's just perfect. Turner's still sleeping great at night, only waking up around 4:00am for his early morning feeding. He's eating 8 oz now every 6 hours. He smiles, coos, and laughs all the time. Especially at 4:30 in the morning. He now loves baths, naps, doesn't throw a fit when his diaper is changed, he loves sleeping with his giraffe, having his hair played with and he just LOVES looking at the lights on our Christmas tree. It melts my heart every time we stand near it, he gets the most amazing look of excitement on his face and can't stop smiling! It's priceless.
As Christmas draws near, my heart is filled with such emotions. John & I are forever grateful to his birth mom for choosing us to raise her son & can't imagine how hard the holidays must be for her. We are looking forward to seeing her in the next few weeks so she can snuggle with our sweet little angel. She's going to be so shocked to see how much he has grown!
Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Turner during the last month. ENJOY!
