A very special weekend

Nearly 7 months ago our world changed instantly when Turner Cantrell Satterfield was born into this world. The joy we felt when we laid eyes on our beautiful baby boy was indescribable. Just as special as holding our son for the first time was meeting his birthmother, “C”.

There was such a mix of emotions we never dreamed we’d experience. We were filled with such joy and gratitude for her decision to give us her baby; but, at the same time, we felt such deep pain in knowing how difficult this was for her. We know this decision wasn’t easy for “C”. Her love for our little boy has been a constant reminder of God’s love for us. Despite the enormous pain it caused him, he gave up his only son so that we might have everlasting life. Turner’s birthmother put aside her great pain and grief to do what was best for her son, and made a very similar sacrifice. We never want Turner to forget the unconditional love she had for him at that moment.

Though Turner’s birth mother knows he is loved and is happy, she will always have emptiness in her heart. So will countless other birthmothers who choose adoption. To honor these women’s courage and sacrifice, and to celebrate just how special these kinds of mothers are, our adoption agency will host a Birthmother’s Retreat this weekend. The special weekend will be a celebration of their decision, a time of ministry, healing, and well-deserved pampering.
Please keep these women in your prayers and pray that God will continue to comfort them and give them peace all the days of their lives.

Pictures, pictures, & more pictures!

Yes, I absolutely love taking pictures of our sweet little Turner. And since I haven't posted in over a week, you're going to see more pictures than I'm sure you want to :)
These are especially for Lolly, Pops, Grandma & Grandpa since we haven't seen them in a while! And I must admit, I'm obsessed with my beautiful son!
We've had a busy week. I had to travel again to Kansas City Monday and Tuesday. Every day after work, we've enjoyed taking a nice walk around our neighborhood. Turner soaks it all in!
Turner loves to play in his bed with his favorite doggie, Max.
T is for Turner! Reese, I LOVE my new cd player you gave me for Easter!
This Sunday was the 1st time in all 6 months that Turner wasn't a perfect little angel during the sermon....he was more like a little wiggle worm. We may try out the nursery this Sunday! Thanks Aunt Kelly, Rawley & Grey for sharing your clothes with me. I love wearing them :)
Aunt CC came and spent last weekend with us so mommy & papa could work in the yard and plant flowers in the flower bed. I think by the looks of this picture, Aunt CC managed to steal all of Turner's kisses!
Thanks Aunt CC for spending the weekend with us. We had a blast!
Mr. Photogenic
I love his little hands in this one :)
He's so close to crawling. He's got the rocking back and forth down pat!

A sneak preview at Turner's attempt at crawling. Enjoy :)

Easter 2009

Easter weekend was absolutely perfect and was extra special for us. Mom and Grams came down on Friday and we spent most of the weekend playing with Turner.

Thank you Jesus for blessing our lives with Turner and giving your son up to die on the cross so that our sins are erased!

Uncle John and Reese being silly!

I love this picture. Reese couldn't wait to hold Turner and she is such a big girl with him. She gave him lots of good hugs and sweet little kisses.

Reese, we need to play together more often!

On Sunday, we spent the afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa's and had so much fun!! Here is Aunt Kelley with Turner

One proud mommy!

We were so happy Grandma Rose got to spend Easter with us. She had chemo all last week and came straight from Amarillo to our house. Grams, I hope you didn't get too worn out. We love spending time with you. I'm on a mission to find you some jeans that actually fit at your waist vs all the "low rise" pants!

Our dear friends Cora Lou and Ronnie got Turner this precious coat for Turner when he was born. I've been saving it for Easter. And it was worth the wait. Everyone at church had a fit over it. Thank you Ronnie & Cora Lou-we miss you!

One proud papa

Look what the Easter bunny, aka Lolly & Pops, brought Turner. Between Grams and Lolly n Pops, he has books for the rest of his life! They both got him some really neat Bible story books that I've already read to him. I can't wait for Turner to love the Bible as much as we do!

Sunday Easter outfit

One of the highlights of the weekend was Lolly feeding Turner. I don't know who enjoyed it more. Turner loves pears, carrots, peas, and prunes! I don't think he's going to be a picky eater!

One blessed family

Saturday night, we went to our church for the early Easter service so we could spend Sunday morning with John's parents at their church

Grandma & Grandpa, I'm embarrassed we spent all day Sunday with you and didn't take a single picture. We're sorry!!!

***Special prayer request***

On Friday we were suppose to see "C" but didn't. I don't want to go into too much detail but ask that you each say a special prayer for her. It is times like this when I know I need to give it up to God that he is watching over her and protecting her but I can't seem to stop worrying about her. We hope to see her soon.

Have a blessed week!

Our little angel isn't so little any more!

Our little love bug celebrated his 6 month birthday yesterday. It seems like yesterday we were bringing him home.

Last Friday, he had his 6 month check up and shots :(

He weighs 18 lbs and 8 oz (75%)

27 1/2 inches (85%)

and in perfect health!

(and his mommy thinks he's "advanced")

He has officially out grown his bumbo and moved into his big boy high chair and loves it! I think it's more the toys that he loves!

His favorite breakfast is rice cereal with apples and dinner time he loves him some carrots!

Papa's been sick this week so he hasn't gotten to spend much time with Turner!

Papa, hurry and feel better so we can snuggle!

My mom Rocks!!!

His little smile is contagious!

John snapped this picture! He's finally old enough to play with his 1st Santa present!

almost crawling.....

He has started laughing at himself. In this picture he was beating on the chair arm like drums and giggled the most precious giggle ever

Nothing beats this for a Saturday afternoon!

We're looking forward to spending Easter with both my parents, Grandma Rose, Crystal and John's family!

We are also so excited to see Turner's birth mom, C, on Friday!

Happy Easter!
