Snowed in and having a BLAST!

Thursday at noon started our long "snowed" in weekend at the Satterfield casa. And boy did we have a blast!! Lolly, Pops, Aunt CC, and Eric were suppose to come and play but since we got approx 8 inches of snow and 1 1/2 inches of ice, that kind of ruined it! So we stayed inside all weekend long until I got a little stir crazy and left the boys at home and ran to Hobby Lobby for a bit! Here are several pictures from our fun filled weekend so you can get a glimpse of all the things we did!
Turner, all bundled up, and chasing his sissy in the snow!
Turner put on his new Air Jordan's, thanks Aunt CC, to watch and play some inside basketball!
We have a future OSU band member on our hands. He LOVES his drum set from Mandy & Adam. It is adorable he gets to playing his drum all while shakin his booty!
On Saturday, our dear friends, Kelley, Rawley & Grey came to spend the night with us. They live in Altus and their electricity was out and they were going stir crazy! Turner had so much fun playing with the big boys. So much fun in fact, that today after they left he took a 3 1/2 hour nap!
Rawley & Grey cruisin around the house
Turner decided coloring wasn't quite as fun as eating the green marker! Thank goodness for washable markers or we would have been in some serious trouble!

Turner enjoyed coloring at the big boy table...and after that got boring, oh yes, he had a sample of the blue crayon too!
1st snow storm of 2010. The view from our back windows

Turner played dress up...yes I still have a pair of Doc Martins from when they were still cool!
We even made Lolly's famous "snow ice cream" on Friday! Turner loved it!
Who needs toys when you have 2 dogs that will let you lead them around the house on their leashes! We are so lucky, Mercy & Lexus are such good sports! Turner would lead them around the house a few times, then they would take their turn and lead him! Pretty stinkin cute if you ask me!
**And I promise Mercy doesn't look this evil all the time! Can't figure out how to get rid of the red eye**
"See food"
Making VROOM VROOM noises like a car or boat!
Papa braved the cold on Friday to made sure the birds had plenty of food. We loved watching all the finches and cardinals enjoy the seed!
The ice....
What's a winter snow storm without a quick trip outside to capture a few precious pictures!

My sweet little snow bunny!
Playing dress up like a cowboy and riding through the house on his stick horse
Our sweet friends, Jimmie & Aubrey let us borrow some sign language videos. Turner is loving them and is learning signs very fast. He already knew food/eat, milk & more before we started watching these but in 2 days he has added ball, cat, bird, car, dog and water! Here he is signing "food"
Seriously...John & I were cracking up with the fact that Turner has 2 rooms and a big closet full of toys and he decides he'd rather tote around his papa's brief case!
So as you can tell...we didn't manage to get bored but instead have lots and lots of fun!
We are one very blessed family with a super special little boy!

Up close and personal!

My heart is on fire for adoption! It seems like everywhere I turn, I'm meeting or hearing of how adoption has touched some one's life and it gives me chills! Last week while I was in Memphis I ran into one of my co-workers who shared her adoption journey with me....although they adopted internationally, our stories were so much alike....it was just so cool to see God working in their lives! We could have stood there for hours and traded stories, but soon realized we actually had work to do!

In a few weeks, John & I, along with a few other families, are blessed to share our adoption journey with families considering adoption...we've done this 2 other times, but I'm just super excited about this time. I think it's because lately, it has been so heavy on my heart to share about adopting a child that may not "look" exactly like you. I pray I will get my message across without coming off as too "preachy."

Any how....here are a few "up close and personal" pictures of my little love bug!

Is this not the sweetest thing you've ever seen...Turner giving his papa kisses through the window!

On Saturday, Turner, John & I went to the Omniplex. Turner & I have been a few times with "C" but never with John...it was so much fun! Turner loves that place and so do I...he can just run wild!!

Turner's new love for ice!

Turner is taking after me & his Grandma Judy...he loves to watch the birds

15 months and counting

I get teary eyed just thinking about the fact that my precious little baby boy is 15 months old! My oh my how time flies. Below is a picture of Turner exactly a year ago! One thing I have learned over the past year is to truly enjoy every single moment, stage, and phase that Turner goes through....because in a blink of an eye, he changes!

His 15 month stats:
24 lbs and 14 oz (50%)
32 1/2 inches long (90%)
So he's still Long and LEAN!!
He is at such a fun stage! He can say mama, dada, dog, bird, wow (which is his favorite word), book, cheese, bath, milk, no, yes, ruff ruff and I'm sure there are a few more.
He signs very well for milk, more, and food. He loves to play in his tent, dance and rough house with Mercy and Lexus. His favorite foods consist of baked fish, chicken nuggets, fruits (blueberries, raspberries, bananas are among his favorites) peas, peanut butter, cheese, and Miss Kathy's butter sandwiches!
We had such a nice long New Year weekend. We were total bums! And did nothing but stay in our pjs and play!
My dear friend Daniela and her mom, Blanca came to visit us for a few days. Blanca bought Turner a cd all the way from Mexico...it's the Mexican version of Hannan Montana-Tatiana....Turner absolutely loves "shakin his booty" to it! It's adorable!
our little ham!
Turner breaking the "no standing on the furniture" rule!
Turner and mommy both got our hair cut (and mine colored) over the break! Turner got a good inch of his curls cut off!
Turner has 7 teeth and the doctor said it looks like his molars are getting ready to come in...YUCK!!
Turner playing with his favorite person in the world! Papa
Turner loves, loves, loves bath time! If I'd let him, he'd spend all morning in the bath tub!
I can't believe 2009 and come and gone. Wow, it's hard to believe that 2010 could be any better than the previous year...but I am confident God has great things in store for our family in 2010! I'm anxious to see his many blessings

CHRISTmas in Perryton

We made it out of OKC just before the snow storm hit! Praise God! I was so thankful John insisted we leave early! Perryton got little to no snow but OKC was another story. We had wonderful time in Perryton with family. We celebrate Christmas at mom & dads as well as Grandma Rose on Christmas eve then off to Mema's for Christmas day. This year we saved all of Turner's gifts for Christmas morning. He had a ball. Enjoy the many pictures Getting an early start on Christmas morning in his pj's
Aunt CC, Eric, and Turner..trying to come up with a "fun" name for Uncle Eric...any suggestions? His nick name in high school was "E-low" but not really loving that name!
Turners 1st pair of Air Jordan's compliments of Aunt CC
On Christmas evening Aunt CC's future in-laws invited us over for snacks and music! Turner loved playing the piano! I think he may have found his talent!
Who needs any presents when you're at Lolly & Pops and they let you play with toilet paper
Turner's Harley motorcycle from Lolly & Pops. Now of course it says 2 years +. So although I thought it was a neat gift, I didn't figure Turner would be old enough to enjoy yet....well was I WRONG! Yes, my son is gifted! We showed him once where the "on/off" button was and then showed him the "go" button...and there was no turning back. That little stinker climbed up on the Harley and took a ride all around the living room! He loves it! When we got home, it really went fast because we have hard wood floors!
Turner's friend, Tucker! We found this doll in Eureka and I just couldn't pass it up since it looked so much like Turner. He gave it a big hug and kiss when he saw it!
My little love bug ~ Christmas 2009
Grandma Rose gave Turner pot's & pans so he can start cooking like his papa
Turner eating at the big kid table with his cousins Adlee, Emmerson, and Evynn
Cheese!

Mema made Crystal and I sock monkey shirts to match Turner's! Aren't they adorable?

Felix cousins!

Grandma Rose and all her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids! We are such a blessed family to be able to celebrate Jesus' birth with the ones we love!
