Adoption Awareness Month

November is National Adoption Awareness Month!

I've been meaning to post for some time about what a blessing adoption has been to us. I had the privilege of sharing our adoption journey with an old friend last week. So many emotions came rushing back....Excitement, doubt, fear, curiosity, but most of all HOPE. If our adoption journey has taught me anything, it was to never lose HOPE. There were days, actually weeks and months, when the longing to be a mom was almost more than my heart could bear...but deep down in my soul, I knew God was holding my hand all along. Little did I know, he already hand picked our sweet little Turner.....just for John & me. Our GOD is so much bigger than we can ever imagine, guess, or request!

I came across this poem the other day and couldn't wait to share it on our blog-

Once there were two women
living worlds apart.
God joined these women together
with a common thread between their hearts.

In one, He created a life,a beautiful baby boy.
In the other, He planted an idea,
weighing it heavily on her soul.

The first, heartbroken, faith strong,
knew the baby wasn't hers to raise.
She watched as the baby was taken,
and knelt down to God in praise.

The second, frightened, faith strong,
asked God to hold her hand
as she traveled toward a dream
to an unfamiliar land.

The baby, he was beautiful,
an angelic brown face.
He stared, wide-eyed and curious,
as into his mother's arms he was placed.

And there were tears full of sadness
as one mother's heart wept.
And there were tears full of gladness
as one mother's heart leaped.

Two very different women
with a common circumstance.
Each asking for God's guidance
instead of leaving life to chance.

Two very different women
who love the same little boy,
praying to God daily
to guide him through this world.

They are forever joined heart to heart
by the same awesome God.

God bless those whose lives have been touched by the gift of adoption

A Friday morning laugh!

Turner's new love is music and DANCIN! I think he's a natural...you be the judge. Hope everyone has an awesome weekend. I'm headed to Big D for a girls weekend, John's headed for a family hunting trip and Aunt CC is keeping our little love bug. I'm sure when I get home he'll have some new and improved dance moves from Aunt CC.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Friday morning, we got the news that Grandma Rose was getting out of the hospital so off to Perryton we went! We had so much fun spending Turner's 1st real Halloween with Lolly, Pops, and Grandma Rose. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend. Enjoy
One precious sock monkey, and 2 OSU fans!
Turner's friends Britton & Breckyn spent the evening with us helping hand out candy. Turner loves playing with them!

Turner had grabbing candy from the bowl mastered!
The girls even taught Turner how to put candy in the kids Halloween bags!
Is this not the sweetest sock monkey you've ever seen!!
