It's beggining to look a lot like Christmas....

I absolutely LOVE Christmas decorations and decorating for the holidays...okay, so maybe I'm a little obsessed with Christmas decorations! BUT, I'm proud to say I didn't buy a single new decoration this year. Over the weekend, John & I put up all our decorations since we're having Thanksgiving at our house this year, we knew we wouldn't be up for decorating on Sunday...especially after the Cowboys win on Saturday. GO POKES!!

My favorite decoration of all.....Turner loves staring at our Christmas tree. His face lights up and he gets the biggest grin.

Put your hands up.....This picture cracks me up! Last night Turner and I were snuggling when all of a sudden he put his arms straight in the air and slept like this for 10-15 minutes.

Turner and his sissy Lexus having Tummy time together...can you tell she's protective of her little brother?

It was so fun adding another stocking to our mantle! I remember last year my heart aching and wanting so badly to do just that! This year, my heart overflowed with joy! We are so blessed

Turner striking a pose while hanging out with daddy!

Turner has LOVED spending time with his daddy over the weekend and we're so excited he's taking off this entire week!

We love the weekends!

Life doesn't get much better than this...spending the entire weekend together! John took off Friday because we had Turner's newborn pictures taken. Brittany came to house and took his pictures and I can hardly wait to get the proofs. SHE WAS WONDERFUL! Check out her website www.brittanystoverphotography.com
Then on Saturday, we started pulling down Christmas decorations. This is my absolute favorite time of the year...and this year is just a little sweeter! Pictures will follow tomorrow!

Turner being such a good boy while mommy & daddy enjoyed their "anniversary dinner" on Saturday night. John went all out and made one of our favorite meals...duck, swiss chard, and parsnips...Thank goodness he loves to watch Food network and gets the neatest recipe ideas!
Turner posing before church

On Saturday we had a fun visit from family. Reese was so excited to see Turner and couldn't stop loving on him! She is such a sweet spirit. We love you Reese!

I had to get a picture of Turner in this pumpkin before we put away all of our fall decorations! Can you see a few rolls on Turner...he's no longer a little chicken man

Turner LOVES his Grandma!

Reese and Uncle Charles acting silly!

Turner and his Aunt Georgia. Georgia made the neatest folk art "Golden Rule" picture for Turner..Thank you aunt Georgia, we love it! And can't wait to hang it up in Turner's room

5 years ago today.....

5 years ago today, I married my best friend in the whole wide world! It was the best day of my life!!! John is so much more than just my husband. He’s my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, my encourager, the one I can’t wait to come home to, my snuggle bug, my gourmet chief, the definition of selflessness, the family leader, and a man after God’s own heart...and I can’t wait for the next 50 years to explore this journey called life with John by my side! I love you John & HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

John's not a big fan of "cheesy" pictures....but he always humors me when I get into "picture mode."

Madly, deeply in love!

Adoption update

Many of you have been asking about an adoption update and I'm sorry I didn't talk about it on Monday. Monday was the paternity hearing and the birth father's rights were terminated! WOO HOO!!!
I'm copying Molly's explanation of what's next as she's been thru this 3 times now. She is a pro at this and is so good at explaining it all!!
"Many of you don't know how this works...here's a quick rundown of domestic adoption.
Parental rights for both birth mom and birth father have to be either terminated or relinquished.
Once this happens, our agency then monitors us for 6 months until it is determined that the child is in a safe environment and doing well. So really, right now we are kind of like foster parents in that we don't have full custody of him, the agency does. At this point the birth parents cannot "change their mind". I can't tell you how many people worry about this for us. As long as we don't flunk this next 6 months, Turner will officially become a Satterfield sometime early next year!!!
God is Good...

Turner and his killer smile! He's really cooing now and I'm falling in love with him all over again
Last night John got home from his 1st out of town trip since Turner was born. Boy did we miss him! He was so cute and called about 10 times a day to check in on us. He swears Turner has changed in 3 days :)
Turner's new outfit from Aunt CC. Is he the best dressed baby in Norman or what?

Tummy Time with his giraffe!

This afternoon we had lunch with my sweet Daniela and her mom Blanca who is visiting from Mexico. We has such a nice visit and they got Turner 2 Spanish cds...one for the morning and one for bedtime!

Wild hair!!!

Turner's sweet sisters, Mercy & Lexus.

Turner has some seriously wild hair!!! I try combing it after baths in the morning and it lays down straight for all of about 5 minutes and then the next thing I know, his curls win....But I LOVE it!! People still stop us when we're out and go on and on about how beautiful his hair is. He still hasn't lost a strand! As a matter of fact, I think it's actually getting thicker!

I think that's Turner's "I'm sick of mommy taking so many pictures" face

Turner loves his paci!

Yesterday we meet the sweet little college girl that is going to keep Turner on Tuesdays & Thursdays when I go back to work. She is an ABSOLUTE doll and I have no doubt Turner is going to love Kayley. She is an answer to prayers!

Turner's 1st road trip to Perryton

We made our first "official road trip" to Perryton this weekend. My dear home town friends had a shower for us on Saturday at the First Christian Church. Turner, once again, got some of the neatest gifts. It was so nice to see our family & friends! Here are some pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!!

Turner is really starting to smile a lot...he has the most gorgeous smile! He loves to flirt with his mommy!

Another precious smile for mommy!

This week, Turner has really started liking his play toys on his car seat! He loves when they make noises! It certainly made the 4 hour car ride pleasant!

Showered with Gifts!

My sweet friends hosted a "Sip and See" this weekend for all our friends to finally meet our sweet little Turner. It was wonderful and to say the least, they out-did themselves!! I am so blessed to have such special friends who have been right beside us through this entire journey praying for God's will. I LOVE YOU ALL!

Bottom: Kelley W, Chass & Turner, Katie, Candy, & Courtney
Turner's shower cake! Grandma Rose got sick and wasn't able to come and bring her famous Grandma Rose cake! Thanks Katie for getting us a yummy cake last minute!
Turner MISSED YOU Grandma Rose! Can't wait to see you this weekend

Last night we met some of John's old high school buddies at Toby Keith's. It was a little chilly so Turner sported his "star" hat. Too cute!

On Sunday, Turner was dedicated at Church. This is his precious Sunday outfit!

My dear friend Courtney came in all the way from Charleston, SC to spend the weekend with us and meet Turner. Courtney, you'll never know how much you mean to me and we loved having "Courtney time" over the weekend!

One month old!!!

Today Turner is 1 month old. Boy how time flies. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Turner over the past month. It's amazing to see how he's already changing. ENJOY!

First night home from the hospital

I can't believe a month ago today we laid eyes on the most precious gift from God, Turner Cantrell. To say we are blessed is putting it lightly. This past month has been the most unbelievable time of our lives. We are madly in love with our little guy. Here's a few updates on how he is doing. He is sleeping 41/2-5 hours now between feedings, only waking up once a night, is smiling, and loves his mommy and papa to kiss him. He weighs 8lbs 4 oz and loves to have his back scratched, hair played with, and hands kissed. He's not a big fan of diaper changes or getting a bath. He loves his 2 sissy's Mercy & Lexus. They give him good morning kisses first thing when he wakes up.
GOD IS GOOD! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Jesus for chosing us to be Turner's mommy and papa!
