We've been trying to come up with creative "inside" things to do in the evening with Turner since it's been so hot this week! Turner absolutely loves loves loves being outside~ so it's been quiet the challenge- so I'm open to ideas!!

Popsicle breaks are the BEST!
Can we say ATTITUDE
Turner has a love for books! Since the day we brought Turner home, we've been reading to him every single day! His new favorite book is the truck book! He loves to climb in his rocking chair (which was John's when he was Turner's age) and read! The smile says it all~you be the judge

I LOVE corn on the cob!

Over the weekend, we made a fast trip to Eureka Springs...a little shopping, some Satterfield family time, and a special trip to the train station...Turner's 1st train ride!! Enjoy the many pictures!
Think this is a cool picture...going to print, frame, and put some where in our house

"Choo Choo"

Here comes the train!

Having so much fun with Papa putting our hands out of the train windows...we were so excited thinking we'd feel a nice cool breeze in the train since it had no air conditioning..but when the train was only going 5 mph...no such luck!

All aboard....tickets in hand!
Just chillin with a cookie and water while waiting for the train ride to start...notice the sweat already starting to "glow" on his forehead

Patiently waiting
Trying out the new train whistle Grandma & Grandpa got him! We loved spending time with Grandma & Grandpa over the weekend!
Super serious game face

We took a potty break on our way to Eureka and got Turner changed into his pj's...he insisted he take the car for a spin before getting back in his car seat!
Yummy to my tummy...crayons!

Wedding Bliss!!

Wow- this weekend was almost a blur! The wedding was absolutely perfect- had to make a few last minute changes due to all the rain. We moved the wedding inside but it was still absolutely fabulous! The ceremony, food, music, & fellowship were all incredible....Crystal was a "knock out " gorgeous bride and Eric was certainly her Prince Charming.
Isn't Crystal a gorgeous bride and Brittyn is a beautiful little flower girl
Breckyn was a flower girl in my wedding and now her and her sister are Crystal's flower girls...notice their adorable headbands! Crystal found them at Forever 21! Too cute & sassy
Lolly, Turner and Papa before the big wedding! In true Turner fashion, he would not walk down the aisle with his pail of flowers...instead he dumped the pail over and walked the other way :) Him and John watched the wedding from outside..but he did boogy down at the reception
Pictures on the green before the wedding...I was having a fit because the club got 3 inches of rain, so everything was muddy and soaked! Including Crystal's dress...but she wasn't going to let the rain get in the way of fun pictures..when the dress dried, you could barely tell it was dirty :)
Mema and Grams taking a break before the Big Moment!

Yes the picture queen got a big fat "F" for picture taking this weekend :) Was too busy running around!

On Sunday after the wedding, John & I hosted a post wedding brunch at our house....yes we were crazy...had over 50 people in our home but it was so much fun! Actually got to visit :) John and his sweet mother and father made 7 delish breakfast casseroles and my dear friend Candy were helped as well!
A science lesson by Berta....learning about butterflies
Yay Uncle Eric is finally my family!
Growing up, we often went to East Texas for the 4th of July to celebrate with family...they have a tradition of having a parade where all the kiddos either decorate their wagons or bicycles...well we are going to have that tradition at our house too! Even if it was just Turner in the parade! Turner wasn't too sure what to think about the fireworks...as a matter of fact, he fell asleep before they were even over
Sunday night, we had a cookout & fireworks with more family! John Dent, my little cousin, is quiet the guitar player...Turner was mesmorized by his music!
Cheese!
Playing with Aunt CC's hair piece
Practicing being the ring barrier....a lot of good that did :)
My little cutie pie~
Saturday morning, mom treated us all to pedicures at a spa in Norman....it was wonderful and such a nice and relaxing way to start the busy day! Afterwards we all went to eat at a fun cafe! Thanks mom for treating us to such a fun Saturday ~ it certainly calmed everyone's nerves
Does sis & Andrea look relaxed or what!
~~~ Pre wedding snack....ritz crackers, milk and a little booty shakin~~~
Turner wasn't sure what to think of Aunt CC all dressed up!
Pinch me....am I really this gorgeous little boy's mama!
Our dear friends the LeCompte Family!
We had a wonderful wedding, so glad Eric is officially part of our crazy family! Now ready for some R&R with my honey and love muffin!
3 hearts that will never be the same
Whew...what an emotional roller coaster this past week has been. With heavy hearts, we returned Braxton to his birth mother's arms 10 days after he was born. It's amazing how 10 days changed our lives forever. We said goodbye to Braxton with love and grace in our hearts not only for him but for "M" It is hard to comprehend the love we have for both of them...no I am not mad or bitter at M for changing her mind...heartbroken- yes- but not angry. I truly believe she loves Braxton with all her being and she will be the best mother she knows how to be. Our agency will continue counseling her....isn't that awesome...they truly care about what is best for these kids, regardless if their birth families place or not, they want to give the parent's all the tools needed to raise a child in a healthy environment. I did text M on Saturday to check on Braxton and she said he was a perfect little angel...eating & sleeping very well...and even gave a "gas smile" when she told him I loved him. I am hoping to meet up with her in the next few weeks at the zoo for a play date. I really think that will help my healing....it would be easy to forget and turn our backs on her but that's not what we are called to do. We want to continue to show her the love of Christ.
On Friday afternoon, I was determined to find a locket...and this was perfect....3 hearts: John, Turner & Braxton. Thank you God for allowing our paths to cross with M's. Our lives will forever be blessed and never the same!
So when we were dropping Braxton off on Friday at the agency, this song by Josh Wilson came on...I've heard it many of times, but never really "listened" to it...It is now my new anthem!
Do you wonder why you have to,
feel the things that hurt you,
if there's a God who loves you,
where is He now?
Maybe, there are things you can't see
and all those things are happening
to bring a better ending
some day, some how, you'll see, you'll see
Chorus:
Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
that you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain you've been feeling,
can't compare to the joy that's coming
so hold on, you got to wait for the light
press on, just fight the good fight
because the pain you've been feeling, it's just the dark before the morning
My friend, you know how this all ends
and you know where you're going,
you just don't know how you get there
so just say a prayer.
and hold on, cause there's good who love God,
life is not a snapshot, it might take a little time,
but you'll see the bigger picture
My favorite part that hits home is
"the pain you've been feeling, can't compare to the joy that's coming"
That hope and prayer has gotten us thru the last few days....God has a plan in all of this heart ache...and we better hold on, because it's going to be AWESOME!!
So we've went to the zoo 3 times in 5 days!! Getting our money's worth for sure
Turner loves to sit in the grass and "hide" He is my jungle boy for sure!
Turner has discovered flavor ice and loves it!!
Thank you to all of our sweet family and friends for lifting us up in prayer the past 2 weeks...we have certainly felt God's presence and hands holding us through this entire journey. On Wednesday, I woke up with overwhelming peace in my heart...I knew something felt different but couldn't pin point it. After everything unfolded on Friday...I was reflecting back to Wednesday and how I felt....it dawned on me that God was guarding my heart....don't get me wrong...I still loved Braxton with all I had in me...but I do believe God was preparing me for what was about to happen. Isn't our God mighty...he met me where I was at, knowing all along the outcome of this journey
Peace fills my soul
It's hard to believe that a nearly a week has passed since our precious little Braxton came into this world. It's been such an amazing week with this little guy..he brings so much joy to our family. Please continue to lift up "M" in your prayers as her heart is aching. We pray she will have complete peace and feel God's presence like we have today and all the days ahead. John & I are so very thankful God brought her and her family into our lives....we will forever be blessed and never the same.
Braxton has beautiful blue eyes just like "M"
Turner has provided some much needed comical relief for us over the last few days...he decided it would be fun to get into the baby powder!
Me and my boys! This is such an incredible feeling!
Papa decided Turner needed a power drill and tools just like him...Turner was lovin it...goggles and all!
Pure sweetness
So Lexus decided to sleep under Braxton's bed to "protect" him..she did the same thing with Turner. Turner and Lolly thought it was pretty funny!
BFF already!
Such a good big brother! Turner loves to hold, burp, rock and feed Braxton.
Cousin Reese came by to visit and play with us on Saturday...it was adorable, her and Turner played follow the leader all around the house!
Pops and Turner waking up from nap time
Yes the matching outfits have begun!
Both of Turner's Great Grandma's
I love this one...just so peaceful...wonder what he's dreaming about
